ABC’s approach is to understand the significance of each building with which it is involved; its archaeology, surviving fabric and built form, the history of its development, the landscape of which it is part, the culture within which it grew and the nature of the community within which it fits. This knowledge will then be used to inform proposals for bringing a redundant or derelict building back into use.
In developing such proposals ABC’s commitment is to manage change in such a way as to retain the building’s character and integrity, within its setting, respecting its historic and cultural significance and ensuring that alterations complement and enhance the original.
